Cardamom Chai

Ingredients

For 1 Serving:

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cardamom pods

  • 1 tbsp Indian loose leaf black tea

  • 1 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ½ cup milk

Instructions:

  • Crush 2 cardamom pods in a mortar and pestle until aromatic.

  • Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan.

  • Add the crushed cardamom pods to the boiling water.

  • Add 1 tbsp of Indian loose leaf tea and 1 tbsp sugar.

  • Boil and reduce the mixture to half its volume.

  • Add ½ cup milk and bring to a boil again.

  • Pour into a cup and serve hot immediately.

Serving Ideas:

  • Serve immediately for maximum flavor

  • Pair with biscuits, samosas, or cookies for a classic snack

  • Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top for extra flavor
