Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Recipe by Sejal

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and chopped

  • ½ cup butter

  • 1 whole rosemary twig

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste

  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  • Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in a pan until tender.

  • Drain the water and mash the potatoes finely using a manual masher.

  • In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the rosemary twig and let it infuse the butter.

  • Add salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook briefly to enhance the flavors.

  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle boil.

  • Add the mashed potatoes to the pan. Mix thoroughly using a potato masher or spatula to achieve a creamy texture.

  • Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the potatoes are smooth and well combined.

  • Remove the rosemary twig before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve hot as a side dish with roasted meats, gravy, or vegetables.

  • Top with shredded cheese, crispy bacon bits, or chopped chives for extra flavor.

  • Add a pat of butter on top just before serving for richness.

  • Pair with holiday meals, weeknight dinners, or special occasions.

  • Can be reheated gently on the stove or in the microwave without losing creaminess.

  • Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper or paprika for an added kick.
