Restaurant Style Chowmein

Recipe by Sejal

Instructions:

  • Heat sesame oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.

  • Add finely chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  • Add chopped green onions, sliced onion, serrano peppers (or green chili), bell pepper, and carrot. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes until vegetables begin to soften.

  • Add Chings Chowmein Masala (or your preferred chowmein spice mix). Add a splash of water to help cook the spices and make a flavorful base.

  • Stir in shredded cabbage, and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until cabbage is tender.

  • Add the boiled noodles to the pan, tossing to combine with the vegetables and spices.

  • Add soy sauce and green chili sauce (if using) and toss everything together over high heat for another minute, ensuring the noodles are well coated in the sauce.

  • Serve warm and enjoy your delicious homemade Chowmein!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 1-2 serrano peppers (or green chili), sliced

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced

  • 1-2 tablespoons Chings Chowmein Masala (or your preferred brand)

  • Splash of water (to cook the spices)

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • 2 cups boiled noodles (preferably chowmein or your favorite noodles)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1-2 tablespoons green chili sauce (optional for extra spice)

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve hot for the best taste and texture.

  • Add your choice of protein: You can easily customize this chowmein by adding a protein of your choice. Simply stir-fry and cook your protein (like paneer, tofu, chicken, beef, shrimp, or even tofu for a vegetarian option) in the pan before adding the vegetables. Once it's cooked through, proceed with the vegetable and noodle steps as outlined in the recipe.
